"La tristesse devient l'amour." The English translation for this French phrase is "Sadness becomes Love." Writing out feelings in a foreign language feels therapeutic sometimes. English is not my first language, so whether or not I express myself in English when involved in creative activity is of little concern to me. Accurate portrayal of an emotionally charged sentiment feels easier to achieve in a language that is one step removed.
